IBPS Bank PO CWE
The recruitment process of public sector banks includes competitive examination followed by an interview. Several public sector banks, regional rural banks and cooperative banks recruit personnel, based on the performance of candidates in the competitive examinations conducted by the IBPS.

Bank Officer / Probationary Officer
A Probationary Officer (PO) in the bank is the starting level appointment for bank officers. The POs have a one or two years probation period during which they are given exposure to various important functions of the bank such as Loans & Advances, Foreign exchange, Credit Rating, Treasury, Risk Management, IT, Marketing etc.
Eligibility
Age Limit:
Minimum: 20 Years Maximum: 28 Years (With certain relaxations). The maximum age limit specified is applicable to General Category candidates.
Relaxation of Upper age limit:
- Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe 5 years
- Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer) 3 years
- Persons with Disabilities 10 years
- Ex-Servicemen 5 years
- Persons affected by 1984 riots 5 years
Educational Qualification
Degree (Graduation) with 60% (55% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in any discipline from a recognized
University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
Candidates belonging to SC / ST/ PWD categories filling in “unreserved” vacancies will not be
entitled to the relaxation of 5% marks mentioned above.
Computer Literacy: Operating and working knowledge in computer systems is mandatory i.e.
candidates should have Certificate/Diploma/Degree in computer operations/Language/ should have
studied Computer / Information Technology as one of the subjects in the High
School/College/Institute.
Written Examination
The structure of the Examination which will be conducted online is as follows:
- Reasoning – 50 marks
- English Language – 40 marks
- Quantitative Aptitude – 50 marks
- General Awareness(with special reference to Banking Industry) – 40 marks
- Computer Knowledge – 20 marks
Penalty for Wrong Answers
There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.
Cutoff Score
Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test and also a minimum total score to be considered to be shortlisted for interview. Depending on the number of vacancies available, cutoffs will be decided and candidates will be shortlisted for interview.
Interview
Candidates who have been shortlisted in the examination for CWE PO/MT-III will subsequently be
called for an Interview to be conducted by the Participating Organisations. Interviews will be conducted at select centres. The centre, address of the venue, time & date of Interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates in the call letter.
The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in interview will not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates). The weightage (ratio) of CWE (exam) and interview will be 80:20. The combined final scores of candidates shall be arrived at on the basis of scores obtained by the candidates in CWE PO/MT-III and Interview.
Allotment
On completion of the interview process, depending on the available vacancies, candidates shortlisted will be allotted to one of the Participating Organisations, keeping in view the spirit of Govt. Guidelines on reservation policy, administrative convenience, etc.
A candidate who is shortlisted will forfeit his/her candidature/ chance for the process if he/she does not avail the offer of appointment from the Participating Organisation, if allotted.
