Joint Management Entrance Test – JMET (discontinued)

The Joint Management Entrance (JMET) was an entrance exam for postgraduate management programs in India, primarily used by institutions like the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and IIT Schools of Management. It was discontinued and replaced by the Common Admission Test (CAT) in 2011.

Joint Integrated Programme in Management Admission Test (JIPMAT)

The current Joint Integrated Programme in Management Admission Test (JIPMAT) is a different exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya. 

Courses and Eligibility

Integrated Programme in Management (IPM)

  • Course Duration: 5 Years, Full Time
  • Number of Seats: 120
  • Course Fees: ₹4.85 L per year

Eligibility

Candidates can get IPM admission only after they have passed Class 12 exams with a specified aggregate score. Candidates who are waiting for the Class 12 results are allowed to appear for the exam.

JIPMAT Exam

JIPMAT exam is conducted for admission into IPM courses offered by IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu.  The question paper has a total of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) on Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning and Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension. The exam will be held for 2.5 hours in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.

Sections and questions

  1. Quantitative Aptitude: 33 Questions
  2. Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning: 33 Questions
  3. Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension: 34 Questions

4 marks for each correct response; -1 mark for each incorrect response.

Time: 150 minutes

JIPMAT Syllabus

Quantitative Aptitude: Algebra, Simple Interest and Compound Interest, Percentage, Profit and Loss, HCF-LCM, Square Root and Cube Root, Simple Equations, Numbers, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Data Interpretation, Averages, etc.

Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning: Blood Relations, Clocks and Calendars, Syllogism, Series, Statements, Venn Diagram, Proposition, Data Arrangement, Data Structures, Direction Sense, Family Tree, Tables, Coding-Decoding, Binary Logic, Pie Charts, etc.

Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension: Grammar, Vocabulary, Proper Usage of Words, Sentence Corrections, Synonyms, Antonyms, Fill in the Blanks, Articles, Prepositions, Error Spotting, Reading Comprehension, Para Jumbles, etc.
