IBPS PO Designation

The IBPS PO work profile includes holding the designation of an Assistant Manager (AM) on Probation. Typically, a bank PO undergoes a 2 year probation period or training and then gets the post of Assistant Manager on joining a branch.

Total in-hand salary of an IBPS PO on joining at a metro city will be around Rs.37145. However, the total salary of an IBPS PO who has to join in a rural area will be about Rs.35800.

Eligibility for IBPS PO

Basic educational qualification required for IBPS PO is Graduation degree (BA, BCom, BSc, B.Tech or equivalent)
The candidate should have passed in English as one of the subjects at SSC/ HSC/ Intermediate/ Graduation level.

Minimum Age: 20 years
Maximum Age: 30 years

Pattern of IBPS PO Exam

IBPS conducts Common Written Examination (CWE) for PO as an Online Exam in ttree stages:

  1. Stage I: IBPS PO Preliminary Exam (Computer Based, Objective Multiple Choice Type)
  2. Stage II: IBPS PO Mains Exam (Computer Based, Objective Multiple Choice Type, and Letter & Essay writing)
  3. Stage III: Interview conducted by Bank

1.  IBPS PO Stage I (Preliminary Exam)

IBPS PO Stage I Exam is Preliminary exam.The structure of the Examinations which will be conducted Online are as follows:

Total Questions: 100
Maximum Marks: 100
Total Time: 60 Minutes
Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by IBPS depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for Online Main Examination.

2. IBPS PO Stage II (Mains Exam)

IBPS PO Stage II Exam is main exam. Subjects, number of questions and maximum marks are as follows:

3. IBPS PO Stage III (Interview)

Candidates who have been shortlisted in the main examination (Stage II) for CWE PO/MT will subsequently be called for an Interview to be conducted by the Participating Organisations and coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each State/ UT with the help of IBPS.
Note: Marks obtained in main examination only will be considered for shortlisting for interview and also for final merit list.

IBPS PO 2017 Notification

IBPS has announced the IBPS PO Notification 2017 on 14 August. As per the IBPS PO notification, online registrations for IBPS PO 2017 will start from 16th August 2017 and would be open until 5th September 2017.

IBPS PO 2017 Exam Dates:

IBPS PO Preliminary Exam Date: 7th, 8th, 14th & 15th October 2017
IBPS PO Mains Exam Date: 26th November 2017

IBPS PO Exam Syllabus

While IBPS issues only the broad subjects, they can be further subdivided into individual topics, based on the questions that have appeared in the exams over the past few years.
Quantitative Aptitude: Number system, HCF & LCM, Number series, Problems based on numbers. Approximation Wrong Number, Decimal Fractions, Square root and cube root, Simplifications. Partnerships, Percentage, Ratio, and proportions, Average & Ages Ratio & Proportion, Profit and Loss, Simple Interest and compound interest, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Average, Mensuration. Permutation and combination, Data tables, Probability, Pie Charts, Bar Graphs, Line Graphs, Mixed graphs, Case study.
Reasoning Ability: Logical Reasoning contains Verbal & non-verbal Category questions. Verbal reasoning means blood relation / Sitting arrangement / coding-decoding / making series and Syllogism. Nonverbal include making series/analogy and classification.
General English: Vocabulary, Synonyms, Antonyms, Word formation and Sentence rearrangement.
Comprehension: Theme detection, Deriving conclusions, Passage completion, Error detection, and Passage Correction, Sentence correction. Spelling: Grammar, Idioms, and Phrases.
