Course, Eligibility and Admission Procedure

Post-graduate Programme Diploma in Management (Communications)

  • Course Duration: 2 Years, Full Time
  • Number of Seats: 180
  • Course Fees: INR 12 Lakh
  • Course Affiliation: AICTE Approved, (Autonomous Program)

Eligibility

The candidate should have passed Bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% marks. Candidates appearing for the final examination towards a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) are also eligible to apply.

Selection Procedure

Admissions are on the basis of CAT/MAT/GMAT and MICA Admissions Test (MICAT), Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI). All candidates who apply to MICA through CAT/XAT/GMAT irrespective of their score, will be called for MICAT. Performance in MICAT and CAT/XAT/GMAT will be considered for short listing for GE/PI

Pattern of MICAT, GE and PI

The MICAT is designed to assess analytical ability, divergent thinking, written communication skills, and general awareness about the Communications industry.

Pattern of MICAT

Paper I

• Part I- Questions related to reasoning and general awareness.
• Part II- Part II of the exam tests the written ability of the test takers. The candidates are given a topic and they have to write both for and against the topic. But in conclusion, one has to either support or oppose the motion. Not taking a stance would mean that one would not be marked for the essay writing. The next question in this section is that of story writing. On the basis of pictures given in the question, candidates have to write a story.

Paper II

Paper II of the exam consists of Psychometric Test. All the questions are compulsory.
GE and PI
This consists of a series of interactions with candidates, on campus, to assess their suitability for the Communications Management industry. This does not require any prior preparation.

1. Post Graduate Certificate Programme in Advertising Management and Public Relations

  • Course Duration: One year online programme
  • Number of Seats: NA
  • Course Fees: INR 1.15 Lakh
  • Eligibility:Graduate in any discipline with minimum 50% marks in graduation.
  • Selection Procedure: Marks obtained in Graduation / 10 + 2. The number of seats available is limited. It is on a first come first served basis.

2. Post Graduate Certificate Programme in Crafting Creative Communications

  • Course Duration: 6 Months, Full Time, Certification
  • Number of Seats: NA
  • Course Fees: INR 1.20 Lakh
  • Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities. For participants in the Crafting Creative Art Direction (Module B), an equivalent diploma/degree in Fine Arts or Applied Arts is mandatory.
  • Selection Procedure:The selection process is simple yet institutionalised. Every applicant is given the opportunity to take the written test.

The written test is conducted through internet/Email and successful candidates will be shortlisted for a campus interview to be held at MICA. The final selection of candidates will be based on overall performance.

3. Post Graduate Certificate Programme in Market Research and Data Analytics

  • Course Duration: One year online programme
  • Number of Seats: NA
  • Course Fees: INR 1 Lakh
  • Eligibility: Graduate in any discipline.

Selection Procedure:
• Marks obtained in Graduation / 10 + 2
• Evaluation of resume
• Acumen and interest in market research and data analytics
• The number of seats available is limited. It is on a first come first served basis.
